Lately, I’ve been thinking of what it means to be a woman in terms of having a career, gender roles, and childbearing and I don’t like it.
Several articles and unsolicited comments have set me on this path, namely a recent article titled Women Doctors: Waste of Money? in BusinessWeek that is actually based on an article published in the British Medical Journal this month, the pregnant man sensation (which I’m not even going to devote much thought to except why is a person with ovaries and a uterus being pregnant such miraculous news?), and yet another family member harping on my wasting time “waiting” for Prince Charming and losing my fertility as a result of my being “picky”.
I need to get these thoughts out of me so I can get back to a happy place. People just love to get you down, don’t they?!
